James focuses on investments in Internet, wireless and new media.

James sits on the board of Co-Op Land, PingCo, UiTV and NetQin.

Prior to GSR, James was the co-founder of AsiaInfo (NASDAQ: ASIA), one of the earliest and most successful technology companies in China. During his tenure as CEO, he guided the company to the first IPO on NASDAQ by a Chinese technology company.

He remains as the Chairman of AsiaInfo, and is also an independent board member of Baidu (NASDAQ: BIDU).

James graduated from the executive program at Haas Business School, University of California, Berkeley. He holds a M.S. in Information Science from University of California, Los Angeles and a B.S. in Chemistry from Peking University.
